Washington – Minister of General Affairs and Governance Najib Boulif held talks on Friday in Washington with the World Bank’s Vice President for the Middle East and North Africa, Inger Andersen on the economic and social reforms launched in Morocco.
Boulif told MAP following the meeting that he raised with the WB officials the numerous reforms and projects as well as projects relating to improving competitiveness, creating jobs and enhancing governance.
The talks were also an opportunity to showcase Morocco’s achievements in terms of social and economic reforms, the Minister said, adding that he briefed Andersen on the upcoming launch of new reform projects relating to promoting good governance, modernisation and upgrading Morocco’s economy.
The issues pertaining to unemployment were also raised along with the ongoing efforts to reduce its rate, Boulif said.
As for sustainable human development, Boulif said that Andersen expressed the WB’s willingness to fund the projects launched in Morocco including those part of the second phase of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH).
Andersen, for her part, said she will pay a visit soon to Morocco to discuss with senior Moroccan officials the support to be brought to the economic and development projects.
