Ramsay’s taking us to Morocco!

On last night’s episode of Uncharted, our man Gordon Ramsay took us along for a trip to the northeastern Moroccan city, Fes. It’s a “labyrinth” place he calls “incredible, and beautiful, and confusing all the same frickin’ time.”

Shall we dive in? Much like the first two shows, Ramsay kicks off the episode by meeting up with a renowned local chef. After navigating the city’s iconic alleyways—and getting lost there for a min—Gordon’s greeted by the Najat Kaanache, who’s got quite the culinary reputation of her own.

The pair wonders through the food stalls, stopping to sample (a lot) and make me (very) hangry, before Kaanache convinces Ramsay to try his hand at making Warka, a paper thin pastry. And, ya know, he wasn’t great at it, which also seems to be a reoccurring theme on the series thus far. But that’s what the experience is all about. Learning! Growing! Exploring!

Once again, he’s got five days of practice before the end of week feast. So Kaanache sends him into the mountains to delve into the world of Berba cuisine.

Because this is Uncharted and part of the schtick is Gordon going to great lengths to discover new culinary cultures (and retrieve the necessary ingredients for doing so), he gets harnessed up for the mushroom hunt. This time, they’re scaling down a waterfall. “All this for a mushroom?” he huffs. “It better be delicious.”
