G6 Countries Commend Morocco’s Efforts In Curbing Illegal Immigration

Morocco’s steady commitment to combat illegal immigration and terrorism were highlighted at the G6 meeting of the interior ministers of Spain, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy and Poland.

The participants in this meeting, attended by Morocco as guest country, commended the North African country’s contribution to curbing illegal migration and its important role in safeguarding regional stability and security.

Morocco, which was represented at the meeting by Interior Minister, Abdelouafi Laftit, was described as a reliable and credible partner who has a key contribution to Mediterranean security.

The meeting was also an opportunity to showcase Morocco’s achievements in countering illegal migration and human trafficking as well as the Kingdom’s counter-terrorism strategy.

Speaking at the event, Spanish Interior Minister, Juan Ignacio Zoido, stressed the depth of bilateral ties with Morocco saying that the North African country is key to Spain’s efforts to address illegal immigration and counter terrorism.
