French President Welcomes Democratic Reform Process Initiated By HM The King, Says Stands By Morocco

Paris – French President, François Hollande, reaffirmed, on Thursday, his attachment to the special friendship between Morocco and France and praised the democratic reform process underway in Morocco at the initiative of HM King Mohammed VI, saying that France stands by Morocco.

In a statement of the French presidency, following the meeting with HM King Mohammed VI at the Elysée Palace in Paris, President Hollande “reaffirmed his attachment to friendship between France and Morocco and stressed its uniqueness thanks to the many links between our countries and our two societies and the joint will to set up a Euro-Mediterranean area.”

The French head of state also “welcomed the process of democratic, economic and social reform under way in the Kingdom at the initiative of HM King Mohammed VI,” the statement added.

“France stands by Morocco on the path it has chosen of economic modernization and deepening the rule of law,” the statement said.
