French car parts supplier Valeo has inaugurated a new factory in the northern city of Tangier, local media reported on Saturday.
According to the Moroccan financial daily L’Economiste, the two-building factory coves a total area of 137,000 square meters.
The factory is dedicated to the production of lighting and wiping systems, thermal systems and driver assistance systems, the same source said.
Built with an 146-million-U.S. dolllar investments, the factory will create up to 1,000 jobs, the source noted.
The factory is expected to supply local French car makers Peugeot-Citroen in and Renault.
