FM Holds Series Of Bilateral Talks On Sidelines Of Nuclear Security Summit

Seoul – Foreign Minister, Saad Dine El Otmani, held a series of bilateral talks with peers and senior officials taking part in the Nuclear Security Summit in Seoul (March 26-27).

El Otmani, who represented HM the King in the high-level summit, held talks with his S. Korean counterpart Yu Myung-hwan on the means to promote international cooperation in the field of nuclear security.

On this occasion, the S. Korean official highlighted Morocco’s effective contribution to the preparation of the Summit of Seoul and its commitment to promote international cooperation in terms of nuclear security.

The two officials expressed willingness to further foster their excellent ties in the areas of economy and trade.

On the sidelines of the two-day event, Morocco and S. Korea signed a Memorandum of Understanding to bolster bilateral cooperation in the field of water management and dams’ restoration.

The MoU was signed by Minister of Energy, Mines, Water and Environment Fouad Douiri and South Korean Minister in charge of Water Myung Pil Shim.

El Otmani also met his Georgian peer Grigol Vachadze. The meeting centered on bilateral relations and international issues of common concern.

Other separate meetings were held by the Moroccan Minister with several heads of delegations of Arab countries, Africa and Europe.
