First Secretary Of The French Socialist Party Highlights Morocco’s Democratic Reforms

Rabat – First Secretary of the French Socialist Party (PS), Martine Aubry highlighted on Saturday in Rabat the reforms launched in Morocco, saying that the March 9 speech added a new momentum that led to the adoption of a new constitution and the holding of elections that reflect “Morocco’s democratic choice”.

“The PS closely follows what is going on in Morocco,” she said following a meeting with Secretary Genenral of the ruling Justice and Development Party (PJD) Abdelilah Benkirane.

She said that Morocco has anticipated deep and significant reforms, stressing that “the independence of the judiciary is of pivotal importance both for Moroccans and foreign investors.”

On bilateral relations, she said that Morocco and France maintain longstanding and firm ties at the political and economic levels.

She also shed light on the need for a relaunch of the Maghreban union. In the same vein, she stressed the role that the Maghreb and Morocco can play in promoting African-European relations.
