Finance Minister chairs meeting of Arab counterparts

sh%20ahmed%20moh%27d_12.JPGManama: April 16 — (BNA) The Minister of Finance Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa departed today on his way to the sisterly Kingdom of Morocco to preside over the 3rd Arab Finance Ministers’ meeting and to participate in the joint annual meetings of Arab financial authorities and agencies.

The agenda of meeting include discussion of a number of financial and economic issues aimed to boosting financial stability of Arab countries, funding of Arab trade and exports assurance, stability of prices of foodstuffs, improvement of business ergonomics, increasing of job opportunities, coordination of stances of Arab countries at upcoming meetings of the IMF and the World Bank in addition to brief report from the World Bank on latest regional and international economic developments.

The meetings of Arab finance agencies explore all aspects related to the role undertaken by these agencies in providing financial and technical support in favor of development projects in Arab countries as well as loans and technical assistance they provide to member countries.
The meetings also consider annual reports and endorse the consolidated final accounts for the financial year ending on 31 December 2011 for the following organizations:

The Arab Monetary Fund, The Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, the Arab Organization for Investments and Export Credit Assurance, the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa, and the Arab Authority for Investment and Agrarian Development.
The Kingdom of Bahrain’s delegation is led by the Minister of Finance and comprises Assistant Undersecretary for Economic Affairs in the Ministry of Finance Yusuf Abdullah Hmood, Director for External Economic Relations Sami Mohammed Hameed and Senior Coordination and follow-up Specialist in the Minister’s Office Mohammed Fouad Satir.
