Fastnet Oil & Gas (LON:FAST) has hired Anadarko’s exploration manager Carol Law as an executive director.
Through previous roles, at Cove Energy, the key members of the Fastnet team have worked closely with Law – due to the partnerships between Cove and Anadarko.
Law has been involved in many recent big discoveries in the oil and gas industry.
As well as the Rovuma gas discoveries in Mozambique, Law was also involved in the Jubilee project in Ghana and a number of the Campos Basin discoveries in Brazil.
Morocco, a key focus for Fastnet, was also part of her portfolio at Anadarko.
“We are delighted to welcome Carol to the Fastnet senior management team; with her exploration track record offshore Africa and her working knowledge of the Foum Assaka block in Morocco,” said chairman Cathal Friel.
“Carol’s experience will be of vital importance as we seek to mature the Moroccan acreage towards exploratory drilling.
“Beyond this, Carol’s contact base and reputation will enhance the company’s ability to secure new exploration prospects, in line with our stated strategy at the time of our IPO, of exposing shareholders to near term, high impact exploration opportunities.”
