EU eyes deeper trade with Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia and Ukraine

The EU is planning to extend its trade relations with Egypt, Jordan, Morocco and Tunisia from a removal of tariff lines to cover all regulatory issues including technical barriers to trade and sanitary and phytosanitary measures.

The bloc’s foreign ministers have given the European Commission the green light to begin negotiations with the four countries towards agreements on a ‘deep and comprehensive free trade area’ (DCFTA).
