Emmerson PLC on Monday targetted completing a feasibility study at its Khemisset asset in Morocco, as it edges closer to switching to potash producer from explorer.
Emmerson began a feasibility study at Khemisset in June, and eyes completing the survey in the first half of 2020.
Emmerson also targets completing an environmental and social impact assessment at the project, in addition to beginning the process to secure a mining permit.
Emmerson added: “Apart from the feasibility study, 2020 will be another year of significant milestones for Emmerson as we move ever closer to our goal of becoming part of the small group of potash producers in the world.
“Key work streams will include permitting, financing discussions and the commencement of detailed design and engineering all of which will further position Emmerson to make the transition from developer to producer.”
Shares in the company were 6.3% higher at 4.04 pence each in London on Monday morning.
