Rabat – The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will invest on the middle term hundreds of millions euros yearly in Morocco, its president Thomas Mirow said.

The EBRD’s funding will depend on the projects submitted by Morocco and the country’s business climate, he told paper “Economie Entreprises”, noting that the reforms undertaken after the constitutional referendum and the legislative elections held last November are “encouraging” and that Morocco enjoys political stability and a relatively solid economy.

He went on saying that it is important for the EBRD to back up businessmen willing to invest in Morocco, mainly in innovative sectors as renewable energy and food-processing industries.

The Bank seeks also to support the financial sector and intends to directly assist small and medium enterprises by providing loans and technical assistance.
