Doctor suspended for continuing to practice in Morocco after returning from abroad and positive test at Covid-19

A Moroccan general practitioner who fraudulently presented himself as a “gynecologist-obstetrician” was suspended for continuing to practice without submitting to hygienic rules against the spread of Covid-19 after his return from abroad. It has tested positive for the coronavirus, informs the Moroccan Ministry of Health.

The Ministry of Health announces in a press release relayed by the Moroccan media the closure of a clinic and a medical office following the positive coronavirus test of the doctor responsible for the two establishments. The doctor is also accused of misappropriation of qualifications.

Opening of two investigations

In the same press release, the Ministry of Health said that two investigations, one health and the other administrative, had been opened against the doctor implicated in this case.

In Morocco, 127 cases of coronavirus contamination are treated in hospitals, four people have died and three have recovered, according to the latest official report from the Moroccan Ministry of Health. The regional distribution shows that more than 60% of the cases are concentrated in the Casablanca-Settat, Rabat-Salé-Kénitra and Fès-Meknès regions.
