Defending Casablanca champion Pablo Andujaradvanced to the semi-finals of the Grand Prix Hassan II after pulling double duty on Friday.
Andujar began his day by dismissing Potito Starace 6-3, 6-0 in 69 minutes to win his opening-round match. The third seed followed up his victory over Starace by topping qualifierSergio Gutierrez-Ferrol 6-4, 1-6, 6-3.
Gutierrez-Ferrol had reached his first tour-level quarter-final when he defeated qualifier Lamine Ouahab 6-4, 6-1.
In the final four, Andujar will play Flavio Cipolla, who beat Benoit Paire 6-3, 6-4 to continue his best run of the season. The Italian saved 10 of the 12 break points he faced to advance in one hour and 33 minutes.
Igor Andreev cruised past Guillermo Garcia-Lopez6-4, 6-2 to book his place in the semi-finals. Andreev won 82 per cent of his first serve points and converted four of his 13 break point opportunities to improve to 3-0 against Garcia-Lopez.
The Russian is bidding to end a title drought dating back to his triumph in 2005 on home soil in Moscow. He will face seventh seed Albert Ramos on Saturday.
Ramos moved through to his second semi-final of the year with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Jeremy Chardy. The Spaniard broke Chardy four times to seal the win in one hour and 39 minutes.
