The huge tea consumption market in Morocco has attracted some Chinese tea makers to do business and set up plants in the north African country.

Morocco`s 30 million people love tea, but they do not produce it. They consume about 60,000 tons of tea per year. More than 95 percent of the green tea consumed in Morocco comes from China.

A number of Chinese tea companies have gradually entered the Moroccan tea market, and invested in factories.

The Moroccan government reduced the import tariff on bulk tea to two and a half percent in 2015 to encourage foreign investment to boost domestic employment.
