The charge d’affaires of the Libyan embassy in Morocco, Abu Bakr al-Taweel has officially assumed his functions and will commence work from Libya’s embassy’s HQ in Rabat, the Foreign Ministry spokesman, Muhammad al-Qiblawi, confirmed.

The announcement of the GNA’ Foreign Ministry comes just two days after the parallel government announced assigning the outgoing ambassador, Abdul Majeed Saif Al-Nasser, as its ambassador to Morocco.

Saif Al-Nasser had previously refused to hand over his functions to his successor, who was commissioned by the Government of National Accord (GNA), before the Moroccan authorities intervened and handed over the embassy’s HQ to the representative of the GNA.
