Mariah Carey Shines at Mawazine Music Festival
After attending a photo call to kick off the weekend, Mariah Carey** hit the stage for an intimate performance in the Kingdom of Morocco’s capital city of Rabat on Saturday night (May 26).
The 42-year-old diva glistened in gold as she greeted the audience on-hand for her show, which was held as part of the 11th edition of the Mawazine international music festival ‘World Rhythms’.
Churning out a hit-laden setlist, Mariah offered up a full range of her material including “Without You”, “It’s Like That”, “Hero”, “Touch My Body”, “My All”, “We Belong Together” “Love Hangover/Heartbreaker”, “Always Be My Baby”, “Obsessed” and “I’ll Be There”.
During the course of there concert, Mimi also treated the packed crowd to a rendition of the song “Can’t Take That Away (Mariah’s Theme)”.
Offering up a few words about the tune before delving into its performance, Miss Carey revealed, “Okay, this is a song from the Rainbow album that I wrote. I wrote this a long time ago to lift my own spirits and I want to sing it for you tonight. It’s called “Mariah’s Theme – They Can’t Take That Away”. I was going through some difficult times and this was helping me get through it.”
