CDT, FDT Labour Unions Hold March In Casablanca In Support Of Working Class

Casablanca – The Democratic Confederation of Labor (CDT) and the Democratic Federation of Labor (FDT) staged on Sunday in Casablanca a national march to defend the dignity and material and social legitimate demands of wage earners.

Held under the theme, ” dignity before all else”, the event started at 11:00 from La Victoire square and lasted 2 hours during which participants marched through the Rahal Meskini, Mers Sultan, Hassan II and Lalla Yaqout streets.

The march brought together protesters from across the Kingdom who chanted slogans calling for the implementation of the April 26, 2011 agreement and the respect of union freedoms.

The participants also denounced corruption, nepotism and demanded the improvement of the living conditions of the working class.

In their banners the protesters expressed their opposition to the law on strike and called for raising salaries and retirement wages as well as the implementation of salary indexation, the reform of the retirement system, the enhancement of health services, the promotion of the educational system and the transparency of justice.
