BERLIN Oct 30 (Reuters) – German police have arrested a 37-year-old French citizen wanted by Moroccan authorities in connection with the 2003 bombings in Casablanca, authorities said in a statement on Tuesday.

The suspect was arrested at Munich airport on Monday after flying in from Paris with his family and intending to fly on to Dubai. The man appeared before a judge on Tuesday and extradition proceedings had begun, a police statement added.

Suicide bombers set off at least five explosions in Casablanca in May 2003, hitting a Spanish restaurant, a five-star hotel and a Jewish community centre. Forty-five people died, including 13 bombers.
