CAN U-20 qualifiers: Tanzania, Morocco, Rwanda, Uganda through to 2nd round
Football Africa – Tanzania, Morocco, Rwanda and Uganda went through to the second round of the 18th African Under-20 Nations Cup qualifiers when they eliminated their opponents following return-leg matches played this weekend across Africa.
Results in the media outlet of the African Football Confederation (CAF) website showed that Tanzania went through despite losing the second round 2-1 against Sudan. The Tanzanians had won the first leg 3-1 and therefore qualified on 4-3 goals aggregate.
In their second-round encounter in Nouakchott, Morocco drew 2-2 with Mauritanian but went though on a 7-2 goals aggregate after winning 5-0 in the first leg in Casablanca two weeks ago.
Hosts Rwanda defeated Namibia 2-1 to snatch a first-round 4-1 goals aggregate win from the second leg while Mozambique, despite a 1-1 draw with Uganda, was eliminated following Uganda’s first-leg 4-0 win at home. The Ugandans go through on 5-1 aggregate.
More results are still being expected.
