The 53 year old British citizen of Chinese origin, Anxiang Du, who was wanted in connection with the murder on April 29 2011 of Helen and Jeff Ding and her family, including two children aged 18 and 12, has been arrested in Tangier on an international warrant issued by Britain.

The suspect had been a partner with the Ding family, also of Chinese origin, in several Chinese medicine businesses, which ended up in court. Du allegedly stabbed the Ding family their own home and immediately left the country.

The case has been highlighted by Crimestoppers, and a press conference at the British Embassy in Madrid last Thursday drew attention to the case, with the police thinking at the time that the suspect was in Spain or Morocco after a reported sighting on the ferry to Morocco.

The suspect is in police custody in Morocco and confirmation on his extradition back to Britain is awaited from the court.
