Brahim Iddouch has claimed the Rio Bodyboarding International 2012, in the waves of Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The bodyboarder from Morocco is shining high up in the international scene and promises to fight for a place in the Grand Slam Series, after his second victory this year.
“Brazil is incredible. People have been supporting me and I was quite surprised to have all this support in the final. The crowd was unbelievable and I felt at home”.
After a long marathon through to the final, Iddouch defeated the French rider Yoan Floantin in the last heat. Brahim was making history for Morocco and he held his country flag up in the air, during the prize ceremony.
Twelve years later, pro bodyboarding returned to the sands of Rio de Janeiro. Fortunately, Brazilians had the chance to celebrate it with Isabella Sousa’s triumph in the Women’s division.
“I am very happy to win this event, here in Brazil. I can say it is one of the best moments of my life. Copacabana is a very special place. It’s unbelievable to see a crowded beach and all Brazilians supporting me. I am extremely motivated to get the second world title”, underlined Isabella Sousa.
