Canadian aircraft make Bombardier is to invest U.S. $200 million on a manufacturing unit in Casablanca, Morocco’s economic hub, in January 2013.

By 2020, the Casablanca unit of Bombardier Aerospace, which is also present in Canada, US, Mexico and Ireland, will create 850 skilled jobs, the local radio quoted Abdelkader Amara, Moroccan Minister of Trade, Industry and New Technologies, as saying.

Bombardier Aerospace president Guy Hachey recently visited Morocco and met with King Mohamed VI.

The Casablanca unit, the first in Africa, will be established in a free zone area near the airport, which offers five years of financial incentives including no taxes, 8.75% for another 20 years and 17.5% thereafter.

Many international companies in the aviation sector have set up factories in Morocco.
