THE VOICE OF RUSSIA

The U.S. State Department has included Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi on a list of persons associated with human trafficking.

Such a report is published annually and is based on data from 180 countries.

In February 2011 a judge charged Silvio Berlusconi on suspicion of commercial sexual exploitation of girls in Morocco according to the report which also says there is recorded testimony that the girls were the victims of human trafficking.

In addition, Berlusconi is accused of aiding and abetting prostitution.

The Italian opposition called the incident “another shameful insult” to the country.

“It is indecent for Italy to have such a business card for the world to see. He is just the prime minister, and we are faced with the fact that everyone in Italy will be judged poorly because of him said one of the deputies.
