The Selman Marrakech resort opened on May 1, with 61 rooms and suites, several with private gardens and heated pools (from $530 per night), situated on 15 acres at the base of the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. The resort has two restaurants, three bars, a pool, and stables for horseback riding. Its 12,000-square-foot spa features seven treatment rooms, four hydrotherapy rooms, indoor and outdoor pools and Jacuzzis, a hammam, sauna, gym, and Turkish bath. To entice visitors, the resort is offering a three-night spa package ($4,100 per couple) that includes several spa treatments, fitness sessions, and a meal plan through December, 2012. Chicago’s Mayor Pays Tribute To HM The King, Commends Morocco’s Model Of Tolerance And Openness
Chicago (USA) - Chicago’s Mayor and former secretary general of the white House, Rahm Emanuel, paid tribute to HM King Mohammed VI and commended Morocco’s model of centuries-old religious tolerance, openness and cultural melting pot.
“I would love to visit Morocco and take my kids to see the country in its tolerance for peoples of different cultures and faiths,” Rahm Emanuel told MAP on the sidelines of the 25th summit of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), hosted by Chicago. Read the rest of this entry

Chicago (USA) - Morocco’s participation in Summit of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), held on Sunday and Monday in Chicago, is a recognition for the wisdom and the perspicacious vision of HM King Mohammed VI which is reflected in Morocco’s special place among nations, Foreign Minister Saad Dine El Otmani told MAP on Sunday.
This is the reason why influential regional and international blocs, such as the EU and the Atlantic Alliance, consider that Morocco is an important partner which has showed its capacity to contribute to peacekeeping and stability worldwide and regionally, the minister said on the sidelines of his participation in the summit. Sahara Issue Could Be Resolved In Days Or Weeks If Algeria So Wishes -Official
Barcelona - ”If Algeria so wishes, the Sahara issue could be resolved within days or weeks,” head of the Moroccan government, Abdelilah Benkirane, said in an interview with the Spanish daily “El Pais”, published on Monday.

“I am convinced that if Algeria so wishes, the Sahara issue will be resolved in days or weeks, provided that it renounces its current stand. I fraternally urge it to review it,” said Benkirane, who concluded on Sunday a three-day visit to Spain. Read the rest of this entry
Morocco Protests Against Severance Of Sahara From Its Map At Forum In Doha
Doha - Communication Minister and spokesman of the government, Mustapha El Khalfi, protested to Qatar’s authorities over the severance of the Sahara from the Moroccan map during the presentation of the countries taking part in the 12th Doha International Forum.

In a statement to MAP, El Khalfi said he was “astonished to see that the southern provinces were cut off from the Moroccan map during the presentation of the participants in the Forum. Following this misstep which undermines a brotherly Arab country, the minister said that he officially protested to Qatar’s top authorities. Read the rest of this entry
