1 to 4 p.m. SUNDAY, MORRISTOWN

In Living Color

For the grand finale of its 80th anniversary celebration, the Essex Water Color Club will show a series of vibrant watercolor paintings at the Morris Museum.

TELL ME MORE: The exhibit features more than 40 paintings by the club’s members, all watercolor pieces that incorporate a range of themes. Local talent includes Wayne artist Janet Kucks with “Selinunte,” an Italian landscape; fellow Wayne resident June Fisher-Markowitz stirs up memories of autumn with her vibrant painting of a pumpkin patch; Karl Blunck of Oakland contributes “Old Friends,” a lifelike sailboat painting. Former club president Medy Bozkurtian is set to show a work inspired by her time spent in the Moroccan city of Tangier. All pieces are for sale; prices range from $250 to $2,200. New Jersey’s oldest watercolor club has been sharing work, inspiring ideas and nurturing local talent since 1932.

QUOTE: “If there are sales, that’s good, but it’s more about the community and honoring presidents and current board members who have given so much of their time to uphold the mission and the vision of the founding members.” – Medy Bozkurtian

DETAILS: 6 Normandy Heights Road. Admission is free. 973-971-3700 or ewcclub.com.
