Tangier, at the end of the XIXth century, France, the United Kingdom, Germany and Spain multiply diplomatic missions, placing the town at the center of their rivalry.
In 1925, Tanger passes under the famous “international status.” The city thus has its own financial autonomy. A time of cultural and economic prestige.
The architecture of Tangier remains singulare and quite different compared to the rest of Moroccan cities. A large number of its buildings and constructions hold in their logic of construction, style and facades numerous traces of that very particular past.
Tanger, à la fin du XIXe siècle, la France, le Royaume-Uni, l’Allemagne et l’Espagne multiplient les missions diplomatiques, mettant ainsi la ville au centre de leurs rivalités.
En 1925, Tanger passe sous le fameux “statut international”. La ville possède désormais son autonomie financière. Une époque où elle connaît un rayonnement mondial important au niveau culturel et économique.
L’archtecture de Tanger reste ainsi si différente et si particulière comparée au reste des villes du Maroc. Un grand nombre d’édifices et de batiments portent dans leur logique de construction, leur styles et leurs façades les traces de ce passé si particulier.
