Amrani Meets European Commissioner For Education, Culture, Youth

Rabat  –  Moroccan minister for foreign affairs, Youssef Amrani, held talks, Monday in Rabat, with the European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth, Androulla Vassiliou, on means to strengthen cooperation relations between the Kingdom and the European Union.

 The talks, which fall within the scope of regular consultations between Morocco and the EU, also examined ways and means of maximizing cooperation within the framework of the advanced status granted to Morocco, especially at the level of cooperation between civil societies, media and culture.At a press conference after the talks, Mr. Amrani welcomed the level reached by the political relations between the Kingdom and the EU, underscoring the wide-ranging democratic reforms initiated by Morocco in several areas, particularly in the fields of education, culture and youth.

He also highlighted the efforts made by the Kingdom in the areas of education, culture and youth development.

Mrs. Vassiliou praised the large-scale reform project initiated by Morocco, which, she said, is bound to consolidate the rule of law and promote a democratic and open-minded society.

The European official pointed out that the EU attaches utmost importance to strengthening its ties with Morocco, as the first partner of the Union enjoying an advanced status.
