American Sportswear, With Global Touch
GANT’s latest collection draws inspiration from its own heritage of American sportswear staples, as this season is all about refining the classic pieces that form the foundation of every well-dressed man’s and woman’s wardrobe.
The collection revolves around three inspirational themes: All American Prep, Navy Nautical and An American in Morocco.
All American Prep is a collection of all-American classics that give way to the quintessential preppy look. These are the clothes that define East Coast style. The color palette ranges from pastels to flattering brights such as papaya red and grass green.
Navy Nautical pairs an interesting workwear element with classic seaside attire. This collection is inspired by the 1940’s when denim sportswear was introduced.. The key material is denim in all kinds of finishes and washes complemented by compact twill fabrics and comfortable chambray. Multi shades of blue, classic whites and red make up the main palette, with emerald and orange adding interesting color pops and are mixed with soft, whitish shades like pannacotta, putty, almond, cream and eggshell.
An American in Morocco is inspired by the time when travel was a truly elegant affair and the sweeping photography of Bernardo Bertolucci’s film, The Sheltering Sky. The silhouette is light and floaty in soft materials with romantic ,lace details in a palette of sun baked greens, khaki and golden oak, sun-bleached brights and different hues of brown, beige and muted green.
