Aïcha des Gazelles: 22nd edition will set off from foot of Paris´ Eiffel Tower.
Only some days before the start: The 2012 “Aicha des Gazelles” – a navigation marathonrally only (!) for women in Morocco – will leave from the “Trocadero Square” in Paris (France) on March 17th.
A fleeting village will welcome guests, partners and press. The Parisian event will bring together 150 vehicles (4×4, trucks, crossover etc), 301 “Gazelles” and thousands of fans in front of the Eiffel Tower.
Crews, partners, guests, media and organizers will meet in this magical place, opposite the Eiffel Tower from 9.00 am to attend the administrative and technical checks throughout the day. Many personalities and friends of the Gazelles will be there throughout the afternoon.
The departure will take place at around 4.30 pm and participants and their vehicles will hit the road to Almeria (Spain) to then take the ferry to Morocco the host country of the “Aïcha des Gazelles”. Crews are expected at Erfoud on Tuesday 20th in the afternoon for the briefing.
For over 10 years the “Coeur de Gazelles” association has organised many charitable works in Morocco to help local people. 2012, the Coeur de Gazelles wants to expand its scope to France in a national project. The association has become partners with the League against Cancer. The concept is to achieve something useful with the simple idea of collecting unused cell phones for the League.
