Moulay Abdellah Commune (Province of El Jadida), (MAP) – HM King Mohammed VI inaugurated, on Thursday in the rural commune of Moulay Abdellah (province of El Jadida), the multipurpose terminal of Jorf Lasfar port, worth 434 million dirhams.
– The new terminal will make it possible to handle around 2 million tonnes yearly
The new terminal is meant to reinforce the infrastructure of the port, which accounts for 24% of national port traffic, in order to meet the ever growing traffic in the port.
The terminal, which was carried out in 38 months, will enable to handle a yearly traffic of around two million tonnes. It meets international standards, providing a 310 metre long quay with a depth of 12.50 metres, enabling to accommodate ships with up to 60,000 tonnes.
HM the King also enquired about the superstructure and equipment of the new terminal, which required investments of 81 million dirhams.
