Marrakech –
The national water strategy that was devised in 2009 will enable Morocco to have an additional 2.5 billion cubic meters of water by 2030, said Abdelkader Benomar senior official at the Secretary of State in charge of water and the environment.

The additional 2.5 billion cubic meters will be reached through the adoption of several measures relating to desalination and dam construction, said Benomar on the sidelines of the First Mediterranean Water Forum which opened on Monday in Marrakech.

The national strategy will enable Morocco to meet its water needs by 2030, he said, recalling that the Kingdom engaged since 1960s in a policy aiming at covering its water needs.
