Mali – Mali is not the “Far West” serving as a springboard for killing and kidnapping, a Malian minister said on Friday under anonymity.
He insisted that Mali “will not accept its territorial integrity to be violated by the Polisario Front”, some armed individuals of which have killed a man in Mali and kidnapped three others.
For him, the reasons for such an intrusion of Malian territories do not stand up, especially that the victim and those kidnapped have no connection with the abductors of European hostages kidnapped from Tindouf (southwest of Algeria).
The three westerners (two Spaniards and an Italian) were kidnapped last October form the Rabouni camp near Tindouf. Mauritanian security forces have lately arrested two individuals, members of Polisario, for their alleged links to this kidnapping.
