Some of the results went as follows: best male actor:Daniel Henshal, best female actress: Josleen Jensen. In this sense it was noticed that morocco lost in all the competing categories in the festival, and thus the movie“Ashika Min Al Reef” for director Narj Najjar did not raise any trophy up at the end of the festival. Moreover, Lebanese movies which are currently competing strongly in Dubai International Film festival 2011 (DIFF), such as “Tannoura Maxi” for Joe Bou Eid, were totally absent at MIFF. This triggered the curiosity of many cinema pioneers and that of the press as well.
Finally, many celebrities and TV idol were part of the many juries of this festival one of which was Hollywood starSigourney Weaver, Adel Al Fadili (Morocco), Heyam Abbas(Palestine), Imanelle Sineer (France), John malkovistch(USA), Jarsia Bernal (Mexico), Recardo Skamarcio (Italy) and the Egyptian star Yousra who was honored for her life achievements in the first night of Marrakech International Film Festival.
