Health ministry plan to return to normality

A vast health ministry campaign to test for COVID-19 to map infections across all of Morocco has started as part of the country’s bid to emerge from the crisis with greater security and keep infections under control.

The plan aims to understand where asymptomatic cases are and to adapt recovery plans to each region. Laboratories are prepared to deal with 20,000 tests per day for 90 consecutive days, compared with the 5,000 that had previously been conducted.

The results will be available after 24 hours, compared with a usual 3 to 5 days. In the most remote regions, for example near the desert, mobile labs have been prepared.
