Morocco could strike a $1.5 billion deal with the United States for 24 units of AH-64 Apache attack helicopters, American media have reported.
In addition, the country also acquired 25 new Lockheed Martin F-16C/D Block 72 jets for $3.8 billion, and requested the US to upgrade its existing fleet of 23 F‑16s to the F‑16V Block 52+ configuration, estimated at $985.2 million earlier this year.
The US State Department also cleared a $240 million contract to sustain and support the north African nation’s F-16s last month.
