 A Saudia flight landed at Marrakech’s Menara Airport on Thursday, marking the airline’s first ever Jeddah-Marrakech flight. We’ve rounded up the city’s top attractions if you’re thinking of taking advantage of the new route.

Jemaa El-Fnaa

Tourists flock to Marrakesh’s central square for its many stalls and sights — from traditional Moroccan carpets to clay tagines and everything in-between, the square is a shopper’s paradise.

Jardin Majorelle

Created by French painter Jacques Majorelle, this magical garden features enchanting lanes, bubbling streams and more than 300 species of plants.

Musée Yves Saint Laurent

The French designer bought Jardin Majorelle in 1980 due to his love for the city. In 2017, a museum dedicated to his career was opened next to the garden and features hundreds of his designs.

Koutoubia Mosque

The mosque is the largest in the city and features a 70-meter-high minaret built in the 12th century by the Almohad dynasty.

Ben Youssef Madrasa

This school was once the largest in Morocco and has stood since the 14th century. Visitors can explore more than 100 tiny rooms and take in the richly decorated prayer halls.

Bahia Palace

This sprawling example of 19th century Moroccan architecture boasts countless rooms and courtyards, all featuring ornate decoration.
