Morocco and Spain on Tuesday discussed ways to further strengthen and diversify defense cooperation in Morocco’s capital Rabat.

During the meeting between Abdeltif Loudyi, Moroccan minister-delegate for national defense, and visiting Angel Olivares Ramirez, Spanish Secretary of State for Defense, they agreed on the promising prospects for bilateral and regional cooperation in the defense industry, according to a statement by the Moroccan National Defense Administration.

The two countries should establish a mutually beneficial partnership, particularly in the areas of shipbuilding, aeronautics and mobility vehicle manufacturing, the statement said.

The two officials also highlighted the satisfactory results achieved in the fight against terrorism and the management of the migration crisis.

Ramirez is leading a large delegation on a two-day visit to Morocco.
