The number of passengers at Moroccan airports hit a record of 22.5 million in 2018, up 10.4 percent year on year, the Moroccan Airports Authority (ONDA) said Tuesday.

According to ONDA, international air traffic hiked last year by nearly 10 percent to more than 20 million passengers, while domestic traffic increased 14.3 percent to 2.4 million passengers.

The air traffic between Moroccan and European airports alone registered 15.7 million passengers, an increase of 11.5 percent.

A total of 9.7 million passengers traveled through Morocco’s largest airport, the Mohammed V airport, representing about 43 percent of the total number of passengers, ONDA said.
