Paris – France welcomed the parliamentary elections, held Friday in Morocco, as a “further step” on the path of the promising reforms, launched by King Mohammed VI.
“France hopes that this election will be a further step in Morocco’s march on the path drawn by the King of Morocco who made the initiative and launched major and key reforms,” Bernard Valero, French Foreign Ministry spokesperson, told the press Friday.
He expressed hope that “this democratic rendez-vous would be a success for the Moroccan people, for Morocco, and for the future of Morocco and the progress of reforms,” which he described as “ambitious, important and auguring well for the future.”
He also commended the friendship binding France and Morocco, “a country that is so close to us.”
