Morocco, Dominican Republic Vow to Cement Bilateral Cooperation

The Moroccan Prime Minister Saad Eddine El Othmani and Foreign Minister of the Dominican Republic Miguel Octavio Vargas Maldonado, pledged here on Friday to further strengthen bilateral ties.

During their talks, the two officials stressed the need to implement various cooperation agreements signed between the two countries, particularly in the areas of tourism, fisheries and diplomatic cooperation, a statement from the prime minister’s office said.

They also agreed to broaden the scope of bilateral cooperation agreements to include promising sectors such as air transport services, customs cooperation and investment support, the statement added.

The two sides praised the quality of friendly relations between Morocco and the Dominican Republic which are witnessing continuous development, especially after the official visit of Morocco’s King Mohammed VI to Dominican Republic in 2004.

The foreign minister of the Dominican Republic is on an official visit to the kingdom on July 18-21 during which he met with several Moroccan officials.
