A lawyer, who is a member of the Brussels Bar, was charged a few months ago with smuggling cannabis from Morocco to Belgium, RTL TVI reported on Sunday in its news report.

The man, specialising in tax law, was the president of a mosque in Picardy Wallonia in 2015, according to RTL journalists.

He was prosecuted by a judge from Tournai but was not placed under arrest. At least four other suspects are accused of having participated in the purchase, sale, possession and importation of cannabis-type narcotics. The drug was transported from Morocco to the province of Hainaut.
