Rabat – The delegation of the National Democratic Institute (NDI), which will be among foreign observers overseeing Morocco’s legislative elections of November 25, is about to witness the coronation of Morocco’s democratic process, said NDI member Barry Freeman.

The NDI will make sure international standards are respected during the ballot, said Freeman in a statement to MAP on the sidelines of an NDI delegation meeting.

The NDI delegation of observers, which includes 41 members from 21 countries, held meetings with several Moroccan parties before deploying its members in different Moroccan regions to oversee elections.

Freeman added that a team of ten observers will continue to oversee the post-electoral period, adding that the participation of the NDI observers reflects the international community’s interest in promoting democratic governance in Morocco.
