Tangier – Morocco is a leader in the Arab world in terms of implementing political reforms, the European Union Special Representative (EUSR) for the Southern Mediterranean, Bernardino Léon Gross said on Friday in Tangier.
The EU official, who was speaking following talks with Foreign Minister Taib Fassi Fihri, highlighted the Moroccan democratic experience, stressing the importance of the legislative elections of November 25 for the whole region.
He added that the talks with Fassi Fihri, held on the sidelines of the Medays Forum, were an opportunity to examine the latest developments in the region and the prospects for promoting cooperation between Morocco and the EU.
Morocco is the first country to enjoy an Advanced Status in its relations with the EU, recalled Léon Gross.
