Former Palm Desert High School golfer Ross Canavan rallied from six shots behind at the start of the day to earn a one-shot victory in the Ras Al Khaimah Classic on the MENA Golf Tour in the United Arab Emirates.
Canavan finished the event with a 2-under 209 total in the 54-hole tournament, including a 69 on the final day.
Faycal Serghini of Morocco finished second, one shot behind Canavan. it was the first victory fro Canavan since he turned professional in January.

Canavan, who has dual American/English citizenship and was listed as an English play in the event.
The victory earned Canavan $9,000.
