Radio Netherlands Worldwide and the Free University of Amsterdam launched the online Vote Compass for Morocco. This is an independent tool which helps voters determine which party most closely reflects their own political opinions. Voters can choose an Arabic or a French language version of the Vote Compass at www.bosala.nl. The Vote Compass is a sensitive topic in Morocco’s developing democracy.

On the economic side, Morocco’s unemployment rate inched up 9.1 per cent in the third quarter, clocking the second increase in a row due mostly to a drop in construction activity. The jobless rate stood at 8.7 per cent a quarter earlier and at 9 per cent in the third quarter of 2010
