Christina Aguilera To Bring Her Vocal Gymnastics To The Mawazine Festival In Morocco

Christina Aguilera will be a guest star at the 15th annual Mawazine festival in May in Rabat, organisers said on Friday.

“Morocco is a place I have always wanted to visit and I am honoured to have been invited to perform at the Mawazine festival,” the American popstar was quoted as saying in a statement released by the festival. “I cannot wait to meet all the amazing fans and to explore the beautiful country.”

Organisers add on the festival’s website that Aguilera’s presence on the festival’s roster will create an important balance between regional and international acts.

The Mawazine Festival – Rhythms of the World is a music festival that takes place annually in Rabat, featuring many international and local musicians. The festival aims at promoting Rabat as a city open to the world.

According to the organisers in 2013, the festival was attended by an estimated 2.5 million people, making Mawazine the biggest festival in the world after Donauinselfest in Vienna.

Christina Aguilera is an American singer-songwriter and actress, born 18 December, 1980. She is a recepient of numerous awards and accolades, including five Grammy Awards, one Latin Grammy Award, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

She has sold over 50 million albums worldwide.
