Weekly service from Persian Gulf to India and European ports.
The United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) has launched a new route for cargo shipment connecting the Indian subcontinent with the Persian Gulf, the Red Sea and the Western Mediterranean. The new route is called the Indian Subcontinent Mediterranean Express Service (IMEX) and has been running since February 26 on a weekly basis. The new service replaces the Middle East-India- US East Coast and will stop at Italy’s Genoa and La Spezia ports.
The route begins in Oman’s Khor Fakkan port and stops at: Jebel Ali, Port Qasim, Mundra, Nhava Sheva, Jeddah, Port Said East, La Spezia, Genoa, Fos Sur Mer, Barcelona, Valencia, Tangeri, Genova, Malta, Port Said West, Jeddah and Khor Fakkan.
On February 28, UASC brought to Genoa the largest ship to ever dock in the port: the 15,500-TEU Al Dhail.
UASC, headquartered in the Middle East and with 185 offices around the world, is the largest company in the Middle East for container transport and covers 240 ports and destinations around the world. The company is currently developing one of the largest projects in the construction world with an order for 17 new ships: six 18,800-TEU ones and eleven 15,000-TEU ones.
The new ships will be large but focused on cost efficiency and environmentally friendly, and will be the first duel-fuel gigantic container transport ships running on both diesel and LNG.
