Moroccan operators and telecom regulator ANRT have agreed to extend to Wi-Fi the ban on the use of VoIP services such as Skype, WhatsApp, and FaceTime over 3G and 4G networks, reports Numerama. This move extends the ban on OTT voice and video calls to all internet services, including those via ADSL.

The ANRT wrote in January that the decision was in line with the requirement for public telephony providers to be licensed in Morocco. Consumers have launched a ‘dislike’ campaign on Facebook to protest the measure.
