Rabat – Morocco is a “model for the Arab countries in terms of constitutional reforms,” visiting Spanish Foreign Minister, Trinidad Jiminez, said on Tuesday in Rabat.
Morocco “has shown a great maturity by undertaking bold reforms,” said Jiminez during a joint press briefing with Moroccan Foreign Minister, Taieb Fassi Fihri.
She also congratulated Morocco on its election as non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
Describing Morocco as “friend and strategic partner,” Jiminez expressed hope that relations between Rabat and Madrid will be further strengthened in the fields of economy, culture and justice, as well as in the fight against illegal immigration and terrorism.
She also said that the Spanish government is in permanent contact with the countries of the region to secure the release of two Spaniards, abducted on Sunday in the camps of Tindouf, southwestern Algeria.
